Led by President Jeanine Naviaux, the La Jolla-based design firm quickly grasped her client's love of the ocean. Focusing her ten years experience in the U.S., Mexico and Europe, Naviaux crafted a home that was both airy and modern with tasteful seaside accents/touches, such the use of paint, since the home was devoid of color. Whenever possible, Naviaux used eco-friendly building materials to complete the transformation.
A hallmark of Naviaux's green thumb is her use of bamboo cabinets throughout the home. The client's home is located in La Jolla, CA, built in 1988, and has a view of the sea. Naviaux's beach-themed inspiration manifests itself in a contemporary design. The living room is outfitted with bright and colorful paintings. The client had custom pieces made for the living room. One from Robert Verhees and another from Randy Strong, who was featured in American Style Magazine. The couch was reupholstered with Donghia fabric to keep with the beach theme. The room is lit at night with sconces from Oggetti and Besa Lighting.
